There's a piece on ReadWriteWeb today titled "Kevin Rose's 10 Tips for Entrepreneurs". Kevin is a serial entrepreneur, the founder of Digg, and considered a pundit on the tech scene.

Building new online communities is always a tricky proposition; so as we set out to build Wordzoku, we frequently study the tips and advice online gurus like Rose or Jason Calacanis disperse about user experience and growing audience when bootstrapping your own business.

The first two tips on the list are "just build it" and "iterate". This is the exact approach we are embarking on with Wordzoku. Over-analyzing what the perfect features should be could be just another form of procrastination, and no matter how much you plan, you're never really going to know what your audience wants until they use it and tell you.

We're also keeping the feature creep in check. I'm constantly tempted to add another "cool feature" but without people using Wordzoku, extra features don't serve much of a purpose. It might sound like a cliche but ultimately it is about the people and the community you build around your service.

We have the Wordzoku site up and running. We'll continue to enhance it, tweak it, iterate, and respond to our users. It's a work in progress that will never really be finished. And we don't quite know which direction Wordzoku will take. But we'll enjoy the process and continue to focus on the user experience, making it usable, and enjoy the ride.
